I saw in a review for Mavericks there was a lumbar support part from Ford that you can add to your drivers seat back. Part is MU5Z-1565500-C. I purchased the part thinking I may be able to install it my self, but realized there is a button with power with this part to inflate/deflate the lumbar support. My build does not have any power seats at all and was wondering where you could get power to operate this support?? Better yet, has anyone installed this is a XLT? The seats are comfortable for the most part, but has no lumbar support. Thought I would try it, but may have to take to the dealer for install. Any tips on install would be appreciated.

yeah,I couldn't stand the weak to non-existent lumbar support,so I ordered the 7 rung lumbar(to replace the 5 rung). It took me several attempts to get it "situated" and took some "additional" tie-downs.I like the lumbar at full extension(the seats on the MAV have a swayback feel to them).Rather than hook up to electric I just bolstered it with shims to get my back straighter-it takes some tinkering,so plan on working on it for a while. Was a little shocked when there was NO lumbar support adjustment in my XLT.Not something I thought about when purchasing. The only things I "need" is AC,cruise, tilt and lumbar support.Don't know if I would have jumped up to next trim level for lumbar.Happy with my job but is not adjustable unless you open back up-easy now that I know how.

I've had inflatable lumbar support in many of my cars including this Maverick and never used it.
My Taurus SHO had side bolsters that came in and kind of hugged you into place. Those were nice.

Thank you. Good idea to leave it out wo power. I’m in over my head but I agree it would have been nice to have on XLT trim

If they use a universal wiring harness the plug may be there for power.
Then again, with everything being computerized. It probably has to be programmed.
