Installed Lomax Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover

Thanks for this post! Was gonna go with the RetraxOne MX but the cannister really bothered me. I'd be losing a lot of useable top space in an already small bed. Luckily I happened on this post and that cover looks sharp. Is that matte black or urethane? Was thinking of going with the urethane but worry that it might be too shiny (if the pictures online are to be believed)

To tell the truth, I think it is matte black. I looked at my order but I can't find the type of finish listed. I can say what I have isn't shiny. I ordered mine from CarID and they have good chat support. If you contact them, ask about any discounts.

Thanks for the tip brother! I did the chat thing with them and they confirmed that the urethane is basically spray on bedliner. That's what I wanted but couldn't really tell from pics I'd seen online. From some pics it looked like there was a kind of glossiness which I didn't want. But it was probably just reflection off the back window or something. Bonus, they gave me a veterans discount and it took some of the bite off the shipping to Hawaii!

I personally had bad experiences with my budget trifold aluminum cover. Have it on F150 right now. Prefer TRI soft Gator on maverick. The positives of hard covers are obvious but here are my negatives:

Heavy
Easily dented and or puncture through
Rubber seal connecting panels tear thus leak. This is a hugely weak point.
More pricey
Shift around more due to weight

*Not heavy, I can remove/install it all by myself.
*Doesn’t dent easily, and you’d have to hammer something thru it to puncture it.
*Seals on my last one were as good as new after almost 8 years.
*Yes, costs more, but worth it for security and longevity compared to soft covers or “budget” hard covers.
*There is no way the cover could ever shift around if installed correctly.

Matte black finish is smooth while the urethane is a textured bed liner finish. It looks like your is matte black when comparing your picture to mine.

Glad you got quality piece. Mine was only about $300 on ebay.

I like this cover a lot. Do you have a picture of it secured folded back and secured in vertical position? Does it cover the third break light? Does water leak past the cover?
