There is a cheap fix for that; love mine:

I use it ALL THE TIME for that paper wrapper that comes off drinking straws. But also find myself closing the door with it. Friction fit. Snug, but comes out easily to dump it out. Got it online over a year ago. 4 pack was like $20. Forgot where. Just search for Maverick accessories.
I want it!!!!!
Thanks GPS

Well, for decades now, we've gotten a little light (we used to call all lights, idiot lights) bcause we can't be trusted to be able to read our gas gauges as showing near empty....So I suppose a freeze warning will be the next idiot light they mandate.

Is there something I'm overlooking, or does the Maverick lack a warning for freezing temperatures and potential ice issues? Every new vehicle I've had, even my 2015 Chevy Volt, displays a warning like "Ice Possible, Drive with Care." Surprisingly, my 2023 XLT Hybrid doesn't have this feature. Does the Lariat Trim include it, or is this another omission by Ford, akin to the absence of TSR on lower trim models?
Lucky me, my Floridian truck does not need it
