I really want those lariat DRLs, but what are these?

It covered by a tape like covering and it looks like it goes directly into the top lariat DRLs. Are the lariat headlights used this way? Maybe I’ll just stick some leds in and see….

isnt that a moisture vent tape? I could be wrong.

Update: I did shine a very bright led in there, but there is a thick/non see through cover on it. A little light came though. After looking at the lariat headlights more closely.… the tops of those lariat’s are see though/ no thick plastic. I wonder if I can remove that top cover. I wish there was a break down between the XLT headlights vs the lariat’s the lights used
