Yesterday morning I filled up before going to work and filled up when I got to work and I used.78 gallons to go 48.5 miles. It’s crazy good mileage.

I assume your truck was already warmed up when you filled up. This, if that is the case shows how important it is do all your errands in one trip (warm up cycle). Does not matter if it's ICE or hybrid. I find that once my hybrid is warmed up, near 50 MPG comes easily in mild weather. This assumes 35-55 MPH type speeds.

Very good gas milage for sure. However, the method used in this case can be off by quite a bit, given that different pumps shut off at different levels. Sample is small.
The best way is to check, as you probably know, is to track total gallons filled over several tank-fulls with total recorded mileage. That takes away a lot of the error. The more you do, the more accurate it will be.
