I can turn radio on without key fob

Have you noticed a time limit?
Rav4 had a time limit to adjust them.
Even radio shuts off eventually. Well, that could be my low voltage too, so battery saver timeout.

Oh yeah, I’m sure it has a time limit. I didn’t test it, but I know that’s how my old vehicle worked. It is on a timer.
