I had a spare set here that i offered up to anyone in san diego area to help put in to solidify my measurements .
No takers , so thats the ones i debooted for the pics . They are off to an aftermarket shop to see if i can get an improved tremor axle ( usual polishing of cage or swapped for cromoly or 300m parts and better aftermarket boots and grease )I would say yes all day , just order both sets for the replacements and full comparison on your old take outs will tell and send the unused pair back .
About $260 for oem EB stock ones a pair
About $405 for oem Tremor stock ones a pair.
Aftermarket shop should install for around $700-800
If replacing would I just order the following parts ? No other parts I'd need?

I keep saying Ford should address this now. It's gonna be a lot cheaper to recall and swap out the CVs on 300k trucks than it's gonna be if they wait and have to do it on 1.5 million trucks or something.
If anyone knows a contact at Ford or how to raise this complaint to them en masse maybe we can get their attention. Until then I instruct anyone who has them fail on them to report to the NHTSA via this link here. Mine have not failed (yet) but if they do I will be filling out this form

Do most of these axle's start making griding/excessive noises and get somewhat clunky before the seal tears and grease starts leaking ?
Mine shook on acceleration like tires were out of balance. Progressively got worse. New axles and it was like new.

No. Nothing visible. The dealership was familiar with the problem and said it was obvious (from the outside) which axle was bad, so they just replaced them both.

Wow - guess they figured save themselves the loss of money by doing the warranty on both at same time.

Yep, service writer said it’s easier to just replace both so I’m not back in a week complaining.

Typical stupid corporate mentality.
Lets repeatedly replace deficient CV's instead of installing the better ones we won't have to replace again.
My CV's got replaced at 20K miles. I'm guessing I will get at least 1 more warranty replacement. After that I'll have to replace myself. Rather than Ford solving the problem.

Thanks for sharing this. Now we have verification that our Tremors do in fact have different and stronger CV joints on the axles. Tremor axles are also a larger diameter between the inboard and outboard joints.

However, if I'm correct the actual splines on the ends of the shaft are the same. If that's the case then non Tremor owners worried about CV axle longevity can swap in the improved Tremor version.
More pics as I send off the tremor axles for modification and trash the broken hybrid one .

as you can see the 3 ring slider with needle bearing plunger side just looks weaker than the 10 ball with cage slider section of the tremor . Also about 1/2” difference in plunge distance .
