Nice. With the Ford rollup cover, I could not get the bed extender to retract, because it hit the side rails which had a medal piece that stuck out.

Does your extender retract without hitting the side rails of the rollup cover? See picture.

Ford extender and hard roll up. I push it past those metal pieces. I've done it a hundred times no problems or damage

tailgate assist is way more involved than the front splash guards lol. Front guards literally took 2 minutes per side. No drilling or anything. Tailgate assist requires a t50 torx and took about 10 minutes. Have to remove the left side tie down hook on the side of the tailgate. Both easy enough.

Please dont take this wrong, but I just don't get why on the tailgate assist! The tailgate isn't heavy at all! I grew up with trucks from the 50's and 60's they were heavy and no one ever complained about needed an assist! I'm just old I guess.

It's not for the weight it's so it doesn't drop. It's nice if your hands are full and you open it

I got a tailgate assist to put on it when it finally shows up. To me this is more car with a large trunk than a pickup truck. It's a nicety to have on the tailgate

I have the same truck 🛻 22 year 14,000 miles. I have an installed k40 radar detector. No bed extender. We could be twins.

Nice! I’m doing my tailgate assist later today. How was the install? Did you do the splash guards yourself? I have the front ones, but am not confident enough to try the install.
