How do dealership allocations work in Canada?

can anyone really figure out how the dealership allocation works, I didnt go to a small time dealership. so in all theoretical aspects, shouldnt there be a bit more first come first serve if ordering is still available?

All I know is that I ordered an XL hybrid in mid-November 2021 from a sizeable dealership and got it beginning of July 2022. I was told my allocation came up in March and that I was lucky because I was the first one to order an XL hybrid at that dealership, so I was first in line.

I ordered my Hybrid XLT with Luxury package Dec 12 2021 as the Lariat version was not an option when I ordered.

Picked for build September 10 2022 9 months later and shipped September 20 2022

Learned from my salesperson on October 3 2022 that my Maverick was sitting in a rail yard in Delta.

She also told me that the Lariat Hybrid which was previously only open to the US was now available to order in Canada.

I place my order for a Lariat Hybrid n October 6th 2022.

Took delivery of my XLT October 26 2022!!!

Love it but can’t wait for my Lariat.

Based on other Canadian deliveries I’ve read about I should get picked for build anywhere from a month from now to the end of June.

Or longer.

Carb grey, eco, XLT, lux, rear window, sibl.
Got my order and sales code from dealer.
Ford chat says, have my order, priority code 19. Not scheduled.
At this point hope it doesn’t get built, I will go for a MY24, tremor or bap.
Woodstock ford has been fantastic, next time I go in I will inquire about their allocations.

Hi, I was there the day the order bank opened. I have a Alto Blue, Lariat, Lux Package, 2.0, SIB, with tow package. I picked up my Maverick early Mar. Just waiting to have the recall for the tow package wiring. I live in the GTA
