About a month ago I posted the similarities between My 2023 Maverick FX4 Lariat with the 2LTR. eco-boost and my wifes 2009 Ford escape limited with a V-6 in it .
When I opened her hood to do a routine maintaince check , I realized just how much heavier her hood is than my mav .
Not just a little bit heavier but a LOT heavier.
Now everything seems lighter on the mav , all the doors are lighter every place you look you see where metal has been removed . Instead of a section being solid there are sections cut out . I removes the taillight housing and noticed was a lot of excess metal was removed .
Yet the mav out weighs the escape by 142 LBS. ,according the stats I got.
2023 Maverick---- 3563lbs
2009 escape-----3421 lbs
Everything on the escape looks and feels heavy .
It,s got me baffled . Am I losing it ?
