THey probably will just continue to offer the GM based Prologue electric SUV.... Originally it was to be a stopgap until they developed their own, but I guess they'll keep the relationship with GM.
It's not surprising to me. About a month ago, Honda also announced a LONG pause (2-3 yrs) in the construction of 2 new plants in our town, one for EVs and another for batteries. The reason given is lack of demand, a market for them at this time. Probably the same for the large SUV.
I My Opinion, the infrastructure is still not available to support large numbers of EVs. My house is only wired for 100 amp service and panel that does not support expansion, it would cost me the price of a new Maverick to add a home charging station. Also the driving range is unacceptable for me.
