On my XL Hybrid with Co-Pilot360 I just this week installed the steering wheel switches with cruise control (not adaptive) and after purchasing the OBD adaptor I was able to program the switches so cruise control works. Had to install the Forscan program on my laptop (I did pay the $12 for the program although a 2 month free program is available). Having never used an OBD adaptor and never done any module programming I can't say it was easy but not hard. There are threads on the forum that explain everything. I did not have to do any "as built" data entry, had to change 4 module settings, one for each switch, one for ICP and one for ABS (there is some confusion on the ABS module but on mine the ABS module had a "cruise control" setting to change.) It's possible mine had the ABS cruise noted because I had just had the TSB done for the rough idle issue on early Hybrid builds. I also added the power tail lock assembly and wire harness, no programming needed for that.

Thank you very much. You have lost me after the third sentence...which is good! Now I know I'll order a XLT 🙂 the IT stuff is too much for me.

If you want to pay about a grand less, you can get the cruise switches and wiring from Rostra. There is information on YT about the installation, and the instruction sheet may be available on Rostra's web site. I have seen their kit on DaBay for about $170-ish.
It adds a small stalk to the steering column as demonstrated in one vid.
As built, for ALL vehicles, everything is built into the engine control system already except the switches, and changing the settings in the ECM. IOW, adding cruise control is not the 'mechanical nightmare' one would expect.
Had it been available when I ordered, I likely would have chosen an XL as I like steel wheels and the simpler color interior.

All you need is to replace the switches and reprogram them. Cost for the switches was ~$80. Getting the steering wheel off was a bit difficult but after that it only took about an hour to complete.
