I'm not in the LGBTQ+ community, but have friends who are (although none of them identify as bears). I've just lived in the NE for a long time and learned about stuff. Provincetown has "Bear Week".

I was riffing on a conflation of that and Alaska's "Fat Bear Week", as the OP struck an actual, biological ursid, rather than the human kind....
