I was advised yesterday by the dealership that my Lariat AWD 4K tow pkg was scheduled, but I haven’t got a build date. I was also assured that the Pro trailer back system would be included! We’ll see…

I’m confused by this VIN ‘sequence number’. My vin is in the 8500 range and my truck was ‘In Production’ on Thursday, 11/14, the fourth day of production. If this is a true sequence number, that means they are building over 2,000 Mavericks per day. That math doesn’t jive with previous posts referencing 15,000 per month. Help me understand.

VIN assignment is sequential and is assigned when they assign you a build week (in simple terms). VIN sequence is not the same as build sequence. Case in point is my 2022 Maverick.

My VIN is/was B05275 for my 2022. The "B" means they looped around after 100,000. So I was the 105,275th Maverick VIN assigned (ever, since 2022 was the first model year, ha!!). But I ended up being built very close to the end of the production of 2022's, and many folks with higher VIN got built before me. According to our tracking here on MTC, the highest VIN for a 2022 was 115,100.

Here was when I actually got built versus when they said they were going to build me. Keep in mind, my VIN did not change and I had my VIN from the beginning. After the dust settled, I was built one full month after their initial estimate/production week assignment.

1. Scheduled to Week (Week -of Oct-17-2022 ) for the build process, Paul.

2. The schedule week of production is as follows: October 27, 2022.

3. Your vehicle is expected to go into production on 10/17/22! It's also estimated to be delivered to the dealership between 12/16 and 12/22/22! Just in time for Christmas!

4. "Production is due to begin on Week -of Oct-24-2022"

10/14: Chat agent says.... Your current order status is In Order Processing and has been scheduled to week of Oct-31-2022. At this time the order has an estimated delivery date between Dec-16 - Dec-22 which is only an estimate and what is currently on the order status.

10/20: Chat agent says..... I show your Maverick is scheduled for production the week of November 14th. The ETA is December 16th-December 22nd. With your VIN and sales code, you can start tracking your vehicle order at: https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking
Please reach out to your selling dealership if you would like to request further details.

10/28: Chat agent says..... "I am currently seeing the scheduled day for Production is November 18th, 2022. I see the estimated time of arrival from December 16th to December 22nd. However, once in Transit this may reflect a different final estimated date."

11/18/22: Chat agent says..... "I am able to see that your vehicle is In Production and in the Body Shop process. This update was provided on Nov-17-2022. I don't see an ETA for completion yet, but please feel free to check back in with us for a status update"

Thank you for the explanation. So my truck was the 8,521st to be assigned a build week, and then it was selected for week 1 production based on other criteria (parts availability, etc). I only chose two options, 4K-tow and mud guards, so this may have helped move my build in front of folks that ordered before me? Thanks again!

My 2025 last 5 is 042xx why does mine start with a 0?
Because your VIN is essentially "4,2xx". You were the 4 thousand 200 something something Maverick to get a VIN.

Makes sense. I was just seeing every saying theirs was 3xxxx or 4xxxx so I figured I'd ask.

Since your VIN is over 10,000 and started to produced this week, I surmise that around 10,000 2025 Mavericks were produced in November. Not bad for only 3 weeks of production!
