Congratulations on finally getting your Maverick!

What you are missing is one of the Maverick Truck Club decals so you can properly “represent.”

Two styles/sizes available:
Congrats again on getting your Mav and thanks for considering.

Couple of hints on the tailgate assist installation that may make it easier:
  • On the bolt that holds the mounting bracket to the tailgate, remove a little bit of the Loctite before attempting to install the bolt.
  • Put a mark on the bolt head with a Sharpie. It will help you determine the orientation of the blind nut after it's been inserted in the tailgate hole and is no longer visible.

I'll just run down a list of stuff I have done that I am really happy with. Pick and choose any ideas you like.

Hood assist - Must have. Just give the hood a good nudge upward and it takes care of the rest. Never use the support rod again. https://a.co/d/d6Gtkti

Powered rearview mirror - I used a Gentex 453 but there's no shortage of options. I paid $50 for mine on ebay; it was used but in flawless condition. Apparently there is a Kia mirror you can find for stupid cheap but it seems to be pretty much sold out everywhere. Very nice upgrade. Love having homelink and a compass I don't have to crane my neck around the steering wheel to see. Very easy install after confirming the correct wires to tap into. Could never go back to a stock mirror.

Fender Badge Blinker light install - Other drivers can't see your blinkers while alongside you because the stock front blinkers don't wrap around (at least on my lariat). Makes changing lanes in traffic less scary if you are the rare breed to actually signal before doing so. Good how-to thread on this project in these forums. Very simple mod and easily my single favorite thing I've done to the truck. Must have for safety. Cost me $25 in parts (I already had wire terminals and crimpers) and took about 30-45 minutes. This upgrade, along with the new mirror, make me so happy every time I use the truck. - https://a.co/d/0hhFqlA

Wireless carplay/android auto adapter - I don't have a personal recommendation because the one I got has connection issues. People here tend to recommend the Motorola version. I think I'm going to return mine and gamble on a Magic Box knockoff. Incredibly nice and convenient when it works.

Rubber mats for underseat storage to protect hard plastic - https://a.co/d/9iSoeuE

Rubber mat for dash tray - I toss my keys and whatever other pocket trash up here so this protects the plastic. Doubles as a dog bowl in a pinch lol - https://a.co/d/iV6doNX

Glove box organizer - Turns your glove box into cubbies instead of a bucket. This one came with a pretty nice single-tier tray for the console as well. Pretty nice. https://a.co/d/8a4CN70

2x6 divider in the bed plus some large plastic storage totes make for a nice modular and secure storage system. I carry a lot of work tools in the totes and they let me completely empty the bed in a couple minutes.

Rear seat protector - Perfect fit. To protect from my tools and outdoor gear I toss in the back. https://a.co/d/7uds8pV

Mud Flaps - Keeps mud off my doors and I consider them a cosmetic upgrade. Not too floppy, they look and feel like they could be OEM. Didn't notice any mpg impact. - https://a.co/d/j3IgKec

I haven't done this yet, but I'm going to eventually 3D print a custom console divider that can mount the coin organizer from my old Tacoma. I really miss it.

I also bought a roll of 2" wide felt tape that I use to protect hard plastic in some areas. Have it protecting the spot that my retracting seatbelt buckle loves to hit, protected some spots in the foot well, lined the edges of the glove box organizer, etc.

Use your Ford points and get the lift gate dampner/soft opener thing! Hands down the most needed thing if you're in and out of the bed a lot with kids!
Thanks already bought aftermarket and installed 🙃

Definitly going to look at these, the mirror and lights. Mirror more likely to me than lights, but thanks!

Ok, that got added to the list...

Did thisbut used a 2x10. had to notch it at the top so it goes in and out oK, but then I have a taller divider

So I've found a lot of mud flaps on the side of the trail where they got ripped off trucks, do they really do that nice of a job catching dirt to be worth the risk?

I'd love to see a picture if you have one. Like I said the concern for me is the short kayak is 14 feet, the long one is 17 ;)
Ours are only 10footers LOL. I can take a picture of the setup later (on my way to dealer LOL). My wood frame sits on bed (pushed up against wheel wells) and tailgate and is ratchet strapped to the front floor rings.

Probably not worth it if you are doing offroading since you are going to get filthy regardless. They seem flexible enough to not get bumped off when you get into deeper stuff but I don't have the experience to be sure. They have definitely kept a lot of salt off my truck so far this winter though.

Found a picture of my kayak mount. 2x6 and 1x2 boards. Got the actual kayak mounts on super sale at Dick's last fall.

Front small boards press up against the wheel wells so it won't slide forward. Ratchet strap on the floor tie hooks keeps it from sliding off the back.

I always look for things that will help my truck look good for years and years. i would recommend mud flaps and paint protection film. Then Ceramic coat the complete truck. It’s unbelievable how much the Ceramic makes the paint stay like new.

The Mav is a rock chip magnet! I had 2 windshield chips in the two months before the deflector and none in the 22 months after.
I'll second this. Just got back from a 2000 mile round trip to FL. I have 2 rock chips in the windshield and 4 on the leading edge of the hood. Ordered the deflector when I got home today.
