Hi All,

New Maverick owner here from Missouri! Loving my truck and about to get a trifold bed cover after 4 months.
Curious if anyone has recommendations or has seen an impact on gas mileage since installing a cover (I'm currently getting 43mpg over my first ~3,500 miles).

Have a great week!

Welcome!

My bed cover hasn't significantly effected my fuel efficiency. I'd recommend anything except a soft trifold cover. When hauling large items, the tailgate is typically down and the covers need to move as far out of the way as possible-- The soft trifold often needs to be removed, but then there's no good spot to store it. Go with a roll-up or a hard trifold that will flip up against the cab.

For what it's worth, you could drive as aggressively as the average STL driver on expired temp tags and still get 32-35mpg. I wouldn't worry too much about incremental gains or losses in efficiency.

Hi Sticks,
Thanks for sharing your experience with the bed cover, tip on skipping the soft cover, and that mpg is insignificant.
I think I'll be going with a trifold hardcover.

Happy driving!
