Hello and welcome! The Maverick fills the void of a small, economical truck. If you get the chance to drive one, a little virus gets inside you. It causes you to keep glancing at your budget at odd times of the day. Then you find yourself dreaming of owning one.

Then, finally, you go "visit" your local dealership just one more time. And there it is. The perfect Maverick. The color you want. The accessories you want. The virus starts making you itch. Then the unbelievable pricing is revealed to you and you go for it!

Now, you leave the dealership on a high you have never experienced! You laugh in a voice that you don't recognize! You now have the Maverick Virus. You will start to buy accessories. You will post pictures, you will wave at strangers! There is no vaccine for this! But you don't care...............you have a Maverick 12-step family to visit here. We are here for you!
My experience was very different.

I first saw a Maverick in the steel at a multi-make dealer show at my local convention center in the fall of 2023. It really was the only vehicle that interested me. I had needed a new vehicle for a few years, but a long bout of unemployment meant my funds were low.

In early 2024, I got a big bonus from my job. I went to a dealership to try to take a test drive, but they only had one Maverick in stock, a Tremor on the showroom floor, and they wouldn't let anyone drive it.

Taking a gulp and making a leap of faith, I ordered an AWD EcoBoost XLT with 4K towing package on Leap Day. Not long after that, I discovered this forum, and learned a LOT in the 8 months it took for my truck to be delivered.

What was most useful to me during that time was the production tracking information, especially the weekly updates on scheduled production. Even when it dashed my hopes (I could see they were out of my wheels and/or tires all summer), it let me at least know why my truck hadn't been scheduled for production yet. Ford's 45-day non-updates were worthless.

Hopefully that will happen soon. Just checking on deals out there which with the tariff situation does not make it easier.
Can't get the 4k package without AWB on the Maverick. Eventually I want to buy a small pull behind camper but I am limited to only 2K on my Wrangler which is a two door. A lot of the trailers I am looking at come in at 2600-2900 lbs. Otherwise - yes you are correct - it would not make sense to need these options in South Texas.
Actually, i work very close to the area where you grew up. Right at I-10 and Kirkwood (Energy Corridor).
My brother retired from BP over there

Wohoo, I am so excited. Just bought an Eruption Green XL with AWD, Hybrid and 4k package. Comes with a spray in bedliner as well. Waiting for the documentation, will fly up North and then go on a 1200 mile road trip back home.

Neat, but be aware that there's a 1,000-mile break-in period on these where you're supposed to avoid "high" (undefined) speeds and traveling at a constant velocity.

Thank you Blue_Max. Might take a scenic route back home. Will be passing through the Ozarks which is perfect for it.

Well that did not work out very well. Have just learned that they listed a vehicle they did not have. No wonder it took them a day and a half to let me know. But the quote was great, now I know why. ;-) Very disappointing but the hunt will continue.

Everything happens for a reason. Pulled the trigger on a 2025 XL Hybrid, AWD with 4k tow package today. Color: Space White. Got an even better deal and just left a deposit on that one. So excited to go on a road trip, see some friends in Kentucky and drive it back to South Texas. Will post some pictures in the new future once I picked it up.
