A friend's Subaru wagon was center punched just like that. Body Shop deemed it repairable but the further they got into it they determined they should have called it a total. Too late somehow.

My son had a Volkswagen dreamed repairable and after 11k repair it would not start and needed 6k wiring harness etc replacement. Insurance ate the repair and wrote him a check for total!
