I think heat helped but don't overdo it. Never tried to remove one cold so have no empirical data just seat of the pants I think this works.Great idea! I assume you thought the heat helped

I removed my 'cold' several days ago. Outside temperature was roughly 75 degrees. As I stated in my post, I was able to pry the OEM emblem off the car from the front after removing the locking nuts on the back by inserting a razor blade around the edges to break some of the adhesive. Once I had enough room to get a trim tool behind the emblem I just kept working it around the emblem gently until it popped off.
