Hello everyone. I'm a retired air traffic controller and Desert Storm Army vet that's lived in Miami, Fl since I was 10.
Due to some unexpected events in our life, I chose to downsize from a 2020 Ford F150 Lariat to my new 2023 Maverick Lariat FX4. After making the decision to buy one, I shopped around looking for one that was equipped with some key options; the 4K Tow Package (for my small boat), the Lariat package (I like the interior and the upgraded features), the B&O stereo (I like my music), and the moonroof (I would prefer a convertible, but this will do). I found this last 2023 at a local dealer and the day I decided to visit the dealer, they had reduced the price by $1,900 below MSRP. I took that as a sign.
So far I am enjoying it, especially the gas mileage compared to the F150. I've added a few upgrades and am looking forward to learning from all of you as well as sharing anything I learn along the way.
One interesting occurence recently, when I started the truck a loud horn sound came from the speakers and then loud static hiss. I turned off the truck and opened the doors and the noise continued. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. Anyone else have this experience and any ideas on the cause?
