Prolly the New Year. That money goes to IOWA DMV for the TEMP tag. I still have mine. Ill go out to the truck soon and look. Again I remember its good for 30 days of driving the trucket from the time of pickup. @Granger Ford ; Can you verify my short memory? ANd can you elaborate on the increase of cost?
The Fees we only have are the $180 Doc Fee and $65 In-Transit tag. The In-Transit tag used to be $35, but the prices went up so we have to adjust our price.

the @Granger Ford means I am asking them; not you. Sorry for that; Its okay. When you see that in the forums the @whomever they are tagging the person or entity or asking them to chime in.
Oh ok, I learned something today! Often saw similar and always wondered what it's purpose was.
$65 is very fair and gives plenty of time to get back home and get things squared away here in my home state.
I have decided to proceed. My biggest concerns were allayed from responses on this site and a conversation I had with the dealership. I would have of course preferred to see those responses in writing given the details to the mini
utia in the other documentation however I am comfortable enough to proceed. My thanks to all!

@Dakota

Please keep us all informed! Sorry for my short term memory. But It was as I thought the price incresase for the temp tag went up.

We would LOVE to see a pic of you and your new ride when you pick it up! Again, It will be one of the easiest purchases of your life. (At least I hope so)

If it is the 4-5 months it will be the beginning of Summer and you will have an awesome return ride home! Glad we were all able to put your mind at ease @FreedomPenguin I also want to see your new ride when you get it! Ya'll take care!

I have never been up that way so was thinking of maybe staying in LeClare, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Knoxville, and maybe Asheville. 4 hours of road time is about all I cam tolerate these days.
When I did the home trip 2 years ago, I stayed over in Danville, right at the IL/IN borderline. That's because my buddy and I made a short detour to Iowa City to visit his college. I think you should be able to get Indianapolis on the same day if you want. Otherwise, staying Urbana is an easier choice.

Thanks I will add that to my notes and will consider it when I plan out my trip. I have not looked into what there is to stop and see along the way. I have never been to that part of the country. Hopefully there will be some worthwhile sites to stop and see on the way home.
