I made a smaller version of this out of 3/4" plywood for my 23 Maverick to mount my GPS, and decided it was time to add one to my 2025 Maverick before our UP trip around Lake Michigan.

I hear phone service is very spotty in the UP. This gives us a 3rd mapping option, as my wife already printed paper itinerary with maps.

I cut a piece of 1/2" chip board to fit the tray outline. Wrapped it with cotton from an old black T Shirt. I opted to keep the pocket on the left side for a little more utility. The wrapped board is easy to lift off by grabbing the Ibolt dual 17mm GPS mount base, which allows access to the storage underneath.

Also shown is my old dash cam, haven't installed the new Wolfbox unit yet, hopefully soon. Then I can hide the wiring on that. Also shown is my phone mount, and dual power socket adapter. Looking forward to taking a road trip with my little square drop Camper.

Edited to add a pic of the actual mount.

You can download Google maps that will work on your phone and Android Auto without cell service using the phone GPS.

I have done this when traveling through parts of Arizona that lacked cell service.

I honestly still prefer to have the GPS too. It is great for finding restaurants, gas stations etc. in the direction you are headed. It shows you where each is located with an arrow, so you never have to back track. Thanks for the tip though.
