Just received another one of the generic email "updates" on my Maverick order from Ford.
This is not an update. It tells me nothing.
I have been waiting over 13 months with no communication of any substance from Ford. I have removed constraint items from my order in an attempt to speed things up, only to find later that the items removed are no longer constraints but other options on my order are now causing delays. It's like playing whack-a-mole trying to keep up with what's a constraint and what's been taken off the constraint list.
To add more frustration, I see on the forum that people who placed orders for the 2023 Maverick for the first time in September 2022 already have received build dates ahead of my (and many others') rollover 2022 orders...no rhyme or reason as to how production order is decided. If Ford's strategy was to anger as many customers as possible, they've succeeded brilliantly.
Hopefully this Maverick rollout will be taught in business schools for years to come as how NOT to introduce a new product to the marketplace. Please don't bother to send me any more of these generic "updates" that tell me nothing, but only serve to frustrate even more. Maybe Jim Farley can spend less time talking to the press about all the grand future projects at Ford and focus more on tackling the many current issues at hand.
