That's the expensive way to go but gets you there. I bought his harness.

If you leave your opener on the sun visor it's an invite to your house if you park outside. I've seen guys that wired the mirror opener to be always powered which is a bad idea.

That harness looks interesting, I had no idea something like that existed but what does it plug into? There is no power to the standard mirror.

The mirror comes with it's plug. Find the harness sellers video on youtube. He probably has a link to it on ebay

I bought the mirror and harness as a kit on Etsy.

I got the harness with an RJ11 add-on to plug in my radar detector. I know it can be done cheaper, but this was a simple 1 stop purchase. Install took about 20 minutes. It works perfectly and looks factory.
