that already exists- it's called the Transit Connect is built in Europe (Spain or Turkey I think) and Farley says production is moving to Hermosillo plant where Maverick and Bronco Sport are built and will be redesigned and produced in 2024.

I'm talking about something a bit smaller than that - like a Maverick version of the Element (short and square.) The Transit Connect passenger van/wagon looks too much like...a van. Those wheels are tiny and it has no ground clearance. Chop off the back end of it and that would be a more accurate portrayal.

I just wants a plugs-in hybrid AWD with generator mode for $25k.

Is that too much to asks yo.

That's more or less a hybrid F-150, except it's not a plug in, and sells for around 2x the cost.

Also, the Maverick has a "generator" mode, although it's limited to 400 watts, whereas the hybrid F-150 can push 18 times more power at 7.2kW.

I can't see much of a profitable business case for that from a major car maker. Once we get old and less flexible things from our youth like tent camping, sleeping in your car by choice and no bathroom isn't so appealing. My best friend has an Element and raves about the versatility too. I find it extremely cramped and uncomfortable to ride in- but even Honda realized it was a niche only vehicle and cancelled it after what 5 years?. He also has a 1st generation Toyota Previa van he outfitted as a camper. Basically moved all his backpacking camping gear in there with a tiny cot and an ice chest. He's 66 and never married and doesn't care much about hygiene when camping and no worries. Once we upgraded to an RV with basic amenities 20+ years ago for camping trips and long distance travel there was no going back to roughing it. I DO actually carry an air mattress in my Grand Cherokee for napping on long drives, but won't be camping/sleeping inside my Maverick I will however tow my toybox on shorter and solo camping trips where RV is overkill, and that's as close to roughing it as I get at 64 y/o with lots of Arthritis

My husband HATED my Element because he said it was a "chick car." I think the Element was around from 2003-2012. My husband is with you on the camper. We're 53 & 55 respectively, and I'll still rough camp with the best of them. Your Firestorm is a nice little rig!
