Here is a picture of my very fist car. A 1970 Ford Maverick. I loved that car with its straight six cylinder engine. Don't remember how many miles I put on it. Now we have another Maverick, though it's a truck.

I see you had mags on it. Was the Mav considered a “hot car?”

I thought it was introduced as a mini/budget mustang at the time, could be wrong?

It was conceived as a "poor man's Mustang" and more entry level. They had a couple sportier and more powerful variants like the Maverick Grabber with a 302 V-8.

With the straight six it had plenty of torque and I did tow a 20' boat with it without issue. With a few tweaks to the engine the six banger became rather preppy too. The other Maverick called the Grabber, had a V8 and was a BLAST to drive. It would hold its own in a street race. Of course I would never do anything like that!!!!

This was back in the 70's when looks were the thing. Besides, I love the old Cragar SS wheels.
