I want to remove this part of my grill that I have circled in red, so that I can paint match it! Does anyone know how remove this piece? Im assuming its just held on by clips but not 100% sure, wanted to check before prying on it lol.

Clips yes but the proper way to remove it without breaking any of them clips is to open the hood and remove the top cover over the radiator that's held in by push pins and a few seven and 10 mm bolts. Then you'll be able to pull the grill out about 4 in to get eight or nine more bolts that hold the two grill sections together, in order to access those clips and free them from the grill.

Then I believe there's three snap clips on each end of the grill bar and the headlight to totally free it up. Took me about a half hour to remove it when I painted it.

Thanks for the heads up! If thats the way to avoid damaging the clips, Id rather do it right! Looks like you did white? How did your truck look after painting it? Feel free to share pics 😁

Correct I did it the best way possible to avoid breaking the 10 or 12 clips I think there's six on each side of the Ford logo that attach to the grill itself through openings in the grill. They're just thin cheap plastic you could try to remove it with a plastic pry tool or a flat blade screw driver, I wouldn't recommend it as you run a risk of breaking tabs that way.

I prefer the white over the gray grill bar personally. Took me about 4 hours from removal and painting including dry time between coats, then 24 hours to let it cure before I reinstalled it.

I also painted the rear emblem, as well as all the door handles and tailgate handle, Plus the mirror caps.

Thank you,

I bought dupli-color perfect match rattle cans from O'Reilly's. Be sure to scuff up all pieces good before painting, and anything that has a texture you'll want to remove that texture as well.
