Front Camera and Lane assistance fault

So I installed the old 1080P dash camera the way I did on my old chevy. Add-a -fuse plug to fuse number 3 (micro 10amp) and grounded it to the shiny nut just below. I leaned over and turned the key on and the camera came on, yee-haw I said, finished the install neatly and went around to the driver's seat and turned the key on and got the fault warning pop-up from the info section. How does the truck even know it was camera I put in? Better yet, how do I fix this? Appreciate any input from anyone

If it worked before you did the tidy up then maybe where you placed the dash cam , those little grid marks on the windshield , you might be shorting out two or more of those grids, take the camera off and see if the problem goes away, and clean the glass.

Thanks for your response canuckford. It's the kind that mounts around the stem of the rearview mirror. I'll try a different fuse in a couple days, I will hook it up and move it around cause I'm curious now.

Ok, I figured out I did not ground it properly and now it is working without error warning.
