1) No leather unless I go Lariat or aftermarket. Do I prefer leather? Yes. But its not a dealbreaker.
Technically, you get ActiveX in the Lariat, and cloth in XL and XLT.

Yeah, I guess I'm just using the word out of habit. Either way it is an easier to clean surface.

Preference for me, but again not a deal breaker.

I just wanted to be sure you weren't actually expecting leather, which is a very different thing IMO.

I prefer cloth, but I would take ActiveX over leather any day. Cloth and ActiveX both wear much better than leather in my experience. I've passed up buying many used vehicles due to poor leather condition--many more than cloth. Of course, there is a large variation in leather quality, and I tend to buy cheaper vehicles.

On this point: Is the actual seat the same between the Lariat and the XLT, just with a different cover? Or is in an actual different seat?
I don't know for sure, I never got into a XLT, I drive a Lariat, at this point it would seem reasonable to assume then, that the XLT's doesn't have the same seat as the Lariat, leather, lumber support, electric, etc.

The seat itself is the same. The luxury package is the same seat as the base XLT with lumbar and power added. The Lariat is the same as that seat, with ActiveX instead of cloth.

THe Edge is so much more comfortable than the Maverick. I've driven the Edge on multiple occasions and have a 24 Maverick Lariat AWD EB. I struggle to maintain 30mpg all around now with my Maverick. It;s really a function of the driving I'm doing and the 245/60 R18 tires.

Well today has been an interesting day. I've been speaking to my favorite dealership about obtaining a green Maverick, and the only ones with the features I want available also have the Black appearance package. They only have an Oxford White Maverick in stock, and I'm just not a fan of that exterior color.

I made it clear to them that while I liked the green one, the cost of the package just wasn't worth it to me, as I'm fairly indifferent about the black accents. Throughout the day they've been "finding" discounts that suddenly have the price within a hair of the cheaper white one.

I'm guessing no one else is finding the value in the appearance package either?

I think it uses decals now, which are a hassle to keep looking new.

It may do that over the badges? But there's gloss black paint accents as well, including the entire roof. Its a pretty significant departure from the appearance of the solid colored model, just doesn't include any functional advantages.

Personally, I am not big on paying for appearance packages but the green with the blackout package is a great combo!
I have the XLT with the lux package, I do like the cloth seats and the material seems like it will hold up very well. The Luxury package includes heated seats, my back likes the seat warmer on low. They are not the most comfortable seats in the world, but on a recent drive across 3 states I had no back issues. The interior is very roomy with great visibility and has a decent back seat.
On the HVAC system, the XLT has a single zone automatic system. You set the temp, and the auto button has 3 settings for the amount of air you want it to move. It works very well, you can also control it manually if you wish.
It is certainly not as luxurious as an Edge, but I love it, it is like a swiss army knife, it happily does anything you ask it to do and is fun to drive plus gets great gas mileage, not much not to love!

I have back issues, but in all honestly the Edge hasn't been great for them. I don't know if the driver's seat is unusually worn (got it used) or if it's the driving position, but I can't really find a comfortable position that doesn't feel like I'm slumping constantly. I've messed with the telescoping steering wheel repeatedly, but I always feel like I'm fighting between leg room and reaching for the steering wheel. In my brief time in the Maverick's driver's seat, I did appreciate the more upright position that felt more like a vehicle and less like a gaming chair.

I appreciate the rest of the details. The Edge is the one and only "luxury" vehicle I've ever owned, and while some of the features are nice, many are lost on me (dual zone climate, powered tailgate, chrome interior accents).

What I do miss is being able to pick up a half ton of wood pellets on my way home or buying lumber without fetching a trailer. Let's not even get started on wood chips, gravel or firewood.

I haven't seen one in person. Man, black paint on the roof would be a nonstarter for me here in Florida.

I can imagine! Thankfully here in Michigan that's rarely an issue, as all black cars are pretty common here.

The Farm Bureau certificate may still be available. That was $500 for $35 membership.

So as far as I'm aware here's what they are offering:
-$1,000 bonus cash
-$750 "private" Ford offer that supposedly does not stack with various $500 offers like Farm Bureau, military, etc.
-$500 "dealer incentive" funds
-$500 markdown on the one with the BAP only.
