I installed myself a third party tonneau cover on our '22 Mav. Took my time and when finished I got into the bed with my spotlight while the wife viewed from outside to make sure she never saw a speck of light. We have been in torrential rains and we never get a drop of moisture in the bed area. Again, I took my time and made sure it was perfect, which is something the dealer's personnel likely didn't do. It's like everything in life - you want it done right you have to do it yourself.

Mine doesn’t leak, granted I live in Az, but even going through the car wash it doesn’t.
Thanks for your reply. It helps to know that mine shouldn’t be leaking as bad as it is.

I agree and plan to spend some time going over the installation instructions and the complete dealer install. I’ve picked up some helpful information from folks like you on this forum and really appreciate it. Thanks

It was installed by the dealership prior to taking delivery but there are no drain tubes installed. I’ll find the installation instructions online and see if there was supposed to be. Thanks

I read the installation instructions for this tonneau cover. There is no mention of drain tubes needing to be installed.

I have a cheap hard trifold that I got on amazon. It leaks a bit but I just make sure everything is in a plastic container.

There are a lot of little grooves on the rails where it's hard to seal the cover to the bed rails and of course there are gaps around the tailgate. I could have gone to town with weatherstripping and maybe eliminated some of it, but the hinges leak and short of putting duct tape over the outside I don't see any way to stop that.

Seems to me that a roll up would be almost all hinge and therefore difficult to seal. I didn't like the fact that the roll up steals a bunch of space at the front of the bed so I went with the trifold and have been very happy.

I have the ford hard tri fold and it leaks up at the cab and at the tailgate, I think 99 percent of it is due to it being unibody design. Water has no where to go when it get in between the cover and the back glass. I’ve kinda just accepted it.
