Hi MTC,

I was focused on other features and forgot my Lariat was gonna come with the bed rail system... though how much of a "system" is it when all I'm seeing is the tiedowns? Not finding the threads about anything here, maybe because it's called by several common words.

So is there anything else for these? Doesn't look like Ford has anything, but wondering if there is aftermarket, or whether there's another system, even if not for trucks per se, where the fittings fit. Doesn't look tooooo complex though, like DIY fittings possible, anyone done any of those? Or just hook/jam in 3D prints?

Thanks for any clues...

If you want retractable tie downs that move along the rails you will need to engineer your own as I did. Others have also done so. This is the link I could find doing a search. I know there are others as some of my ideas I "borrowed" from them.

I have no idea what items are commercially available and sold to work with the cargo tie down rails on the sides of the bed but I’m looking for Slidable Beer Holders, for my redneck buddies to use when they are sitting in lawn chairs in the back of my truck while road hunting. I’m tired of hearing them say, “Hey, hold my beer.”

…joking of course.

The only thing I know of is some ratchet straps that fit in the rails.

There is the divider already mentioned, and also cross bars that can be used for bike racks and other roof rack type accessories.

Thanks all for the ideas.

Those hooks look useful. Pondering whether I actually want to get my ass round to buying a 3D printer and doing some like that myself..... orrr whether to find a plastic chunk or bar that I can run down with saws and router bits and then slice.... orrr whether to just do it individually out of "chonky sheet" very patiently with the scrollsaw. Got a small piece of delrin which is a "semi-precious" plastic so deciding if I want to use a bit of that.

Also was looking at toolbench rail systems and slatwall stuff, some of that might be adaptable. I guess the tiedowns are enough for proper tiedowns, but something in the realm of lighter duty hooks would be nice. Aiming to wrangle, dangle and finangle ropes, bungees, electrical cords etc for storage while unused.

So that above will probably be first application... keep 'em coming if you find anything else...
