A little bit of a long story, but I needed extra length to move our daughter to college. I purchased a used generic bed extender on FB for $25, along with the Universal AMP mounting brackets on Amazon. It worked, but it wasn't pretty, and it didn't add much length. I then saw a genuine Ford Ranger (19-23) Bed Extender on Marketplace for $60 (including brackets). They are $380 new from Ford. I studied the installation instructions and decided to try it. All I had to do, was remove the 2 upright/rear braces, and squeeze everything together. It then fit like a glove. It works with the universal brackets. It flips inside without issues as well. As a caveat, the pegs in the tie-down straps are too small to lock into the Maverick tailgate latches. I plan to fabricate something that will work. For this trip, I simply double zip-tied the straps to the tailgate.
I kept the cruise at 75, and everything survived the 205-mile trip -- all while making 28.5 mpg.
