Planning on changing the stock muffler for one with a little more character. Thinking of a Flow Master.
I had flow Master 40s on a 72 El Camino - way too loud. Later I had a '64 Skylark which I installed Flow Master 50s. More bearable and just the right sound.
Trying to decide which one to install. I know the EB 2.0 being a turbo should be quieter than a normally aspirated engine. So it might be ok with the FM 40. The 50 series might not be enough "character".
Has anyone tried replacing muffler with a straight pipe ?
I always liked the exhaust splitter tips on the GTO and I had them on the Skylark. So I'm going to put one on the Mav. The stainless steel splitters are made by PYPES. The come as a pair but I will only use one .
