But have you had to have any powertrain warranty work done? The only thing I'd be nervous about would be blowing the engine or tranny (for any reason - wouldn't push for dumb power), and then I'd be more worried about Ford finding logging record of install/tune manipulation in the computer than the dealership.

Edit: seriously love your truck btw. I saved it to my inspiration folder a while back.
They replaced an axle is the only thing powertrain wise
Some electronics bits have been corrected even though I had swapped modules

Yup, I'm waiting for that late2025/early2026 announcement "Hot selling Lobo discontinued, replaced with ST for next year" and all the rage/hate posts from Lobo owners.
won't happen en masse, or at all. people know that Ford wants to see some Lobos out there to make sure there's a market before they commit to a ST. people will either keep their modified trucks, or sell/trade to move into a ST when it comes.

and the ST will cost more, guaranteed. but if they do an XLT-based ST like they have done with the Lobo, that might not be terribly expensive. a Lariat-based ST, as I guessed 3 months ago, probably will be in the 45-48k range.

there are lots of existing powertrain options except many of them are longitudinal only now. they did make a fwd version of the 3.5tt making 365 hp for the Taurus SHO and Flex limited but I'm pretty sure that won't happen even if it did fit the Maverick engine bay.

we are probably talking about a 2.0 with a larger turbo, or a 2.3 best case, for the foreseeable Maverick future.

Oh normal people wouldn't trade a 1 year old Lobo for an ST but if it was to be released you know there's at least a few people on here who would rage and screech, then go throw down a deposit. Look at all the people who traded 22s for 23s or 24s just because they could.

Hell, IF they do an XLT based ST priced around $45k CAD I'd probably seriously consider trading up but spending Lariat or higher money on a Maverick is just silly in my opinion. I like the truck but it's still just a little economy car based on an economy car platform.
If it goes $45-48k USD that'd be around $53-58k range in Canada and there are just way too many nice vehicles in that range if you want something peppy and don't care about a truck bed.

I wonder how many of the accessories I have now on my 24 FX4 I will be able to transfer over to a Lobo if I got one. Hopefully the exhaust, wheel spacers, T harness for the radio. I already know the S&B intake will not work, and most likely the JB4 wont either.
