So I am approaching 6000 miles on my Tremor Maverick and will be taking it to a trusted local Ford Dealership to have the service done. I plan on requesting a full synthetic oil change, changing the oil on the RDU (Based on what I read here), I will also have them look at the tire pressure monitoring system has I just found out a few days ago I am not getting a reading from them. Beyond that, should I be requesting a service on anything else that I am missing?

I recommend you have the both the PTU and RDU fluids replaced.

Thanks for mentioning that, I was only remembering the RDU. Do these components have a dipstick here one can check oil level and the condition of the oil or is it just something that gets drained then replaced?

They are drain and replace. No dipstick. I don’t know your mechanical abilities, but it is so simple to do. Both the PTU and RDU will cost you about 50 bucks total to do. I bet you the dealer charges you 500 for it.

So I scheduled an appointment, they'll give me a price on the fluid change for those devices before doing it, we will see.

I appreciate it but I am not really setup with the proper equipment to do it, nor do I have the confidence or time to do it.

Update us. My dealer told me PTU and RDU will run $49
I’m good with that. My full service with full synthetic is $79
I’ll flush my transmission at 50,000 just for shits and giggles..
The flush and refill takes I think 12 Quarts.
And time. $229

You got it man, my appointment is this Friday, so I will update hopefully by Friday afternoon. I also appreciate sharing the pricing your dealership charged, I did not buy my Maverick at this dealership (They're down in Philly, I am not making that trip) but they did replace the transmission in my Fusion a couple years ago and they were easy to deal with plus they're conveniently placed between my home and job.

I think I have to move. I see prices on here from dealers around the country that are unbelievable low. If you ask to use the bathroom at a dealer near me they charge you $100 for toilet paper. šŸ˜‚

How often do these need to get replaced?
What is an OK cost to get them done?
I replaced both PTU and RDU at 5k, then at 30k and recently again at 60k.

I also just completed the 60k transmission fluid change on my EcoBoost Ford Maverick. Since my last change at 30k, the fluid was down by about half a quart. From what I could tell, it was not a leak because the breather area was coated in fluid residue, so it looks like some of it evaporated over time.

For anyone planning to follow the ā€œlifetime fillā€ idea, be cautious. These transmissions are not immune to fluid loss, and a little maintenance now can save a lot of trouble later.

Per your owner's manual, you never have to change them as part of routine maintenance but people do it anyway. The cost to do it yourself is about $50 since it is only two containers of oil and you use about half of each.

Doing both PTU and RDU at 9,000 miles, I'm at 6,200 now, then again at 50,000 when I flush the tranny. I'll trade in right before 100,000 when my warranty expires.

The 9,000 mile service you ask ? I'm wired differently. First oil change was at 3,000, next is 9,000 and
the next is at 15,000 then every 5,000 after that. It's a Turbo thing

Am I allowed to say Tranny ? Roflmao :XD

Your dealer will drain and fill RDU & PTU for 50 bucks, everything included? Are you related to everyone there? šŸ¤” Also I ā€˜heard’ that it’s better to just drain and refill the transmissions and NOT to flush, but that’s probably another can’o worms!

Yeah If ford says no flush on the tranny that’s fine with me.
All my Taco’s got a case of 12 quarts. They flushed until nothing was left except a properly filled transmission.

RDU and PTU hold what. One quart each ?
What , $9 each, it’s a quick fill on the rack right ?
A fitty spot sounds right. I’m just glad I don’t have to mess with it.
