So every weekend when we're out and about I check dealer website near where we will be to see if they have any Mavericks.

Well today I check and a dealer nearby says they have 14 in stock. Not in transit, not pending sale, nothing that would indicate they weren't there.

Well we get done and I drive to the dealership. Drive the lot, drive the used lot, drive the service lot, drive another lot they have across the street. Not a single one.

Next thing I know a salesman flags me down and says what exactly are you looking for? Tell him all the Mavericks you guys have listed on your website. His response, word for word, oh we don't actually have those.

What the hell? Though shouldn't surprise me because the same dealership did the EXACT same thing when the new Bronco came out. Listed several for sale but didn't actually have any. I could understand saying you have 2 or 3, but they all sold before I showed up, especially with how popular it is. But to put on your website you have 14?

Anyway head home and drive by my local dealer and they have one on the lot. Only a XL but I am just looking for one to look at and see how I like the truck in general. Plan on ordering a Lariat this summer when order banks open back up.

Even though it was an XL it appeared much nicer than I expected. But my daily is also a 95 Ram pickup so anything will be an upgrade. It was also really nice to be able to reach over the bedside and touch the bottom of the bed. Adjusted the driver seat to me, then sat behind it to see if an adult would fit comfortably. Fit no problem. Had my oldest and tallest kid climb in and sit behind me, she had plenty of room and was comfortable.

It was a customer order, but they had to have bought it, driven it home, and decided immediately they didn't like it. It was listed as used and has a whole 11 miles on it. Closest houses are about 1 mile away, so to and from the dealership would put it at 9, and I know some of those miles are from simply being built and delivered.

I had exactly the same experience, dealership website 10 in stock, drive 100km to look at them, no sorry we haven’t any, but I can order you one.
so I learnt my lesson calling all the other dealerships,” your showing stock but do you actually have any of them there?” mmmmmm no sorry but I can order you one.

after a few days calling round I found on in transit , that will do I though,
I hope they live up to expectations because i have only seen one passing me on a crossing

I've been looking for one ever since people started reporting getting theirs. Before today I've only ever seen 1 driving around in our area.

There was a Bronco Sport sitting next to it in Cactus Grey, the Maverick was Area 51. I'm glad that was the case because I thought CG was more greenish, A51 is now my choice.

Dealers vary a lot (no pun intended) and the crunch this year on new car output has brought out some of the worst into the light of day. Don't buy from the liars and cheaters. Check the reviews here and elsewhere. And especially if you have a local dealer you already know and like, go through them. Mavericks are in such great demand that you really have to order one rather than wait for one to appear on a lot. Chances are any that do appear will be marked up way above the MSRP.

I ordered through my local dealer that I know and have bought through before. They did a stellar job, not their fault that Ford was so slow in delivering everyone's orders. No markups or funny fees added, the price was the same as what was quoted when I ordered nine months ago.

Yeah, six plus months waiting and the dealer says he knows NOTHING. How is that friggin possible? Am I just being hosed? Will THE DAY (delivery) come and they tack on money over the MSRP?
Will my XLT ever arrive or will they say " sorry". After six months I'm turning into a skeptic.
