So every weekend when we're out and about I check dealer website near where we will be to see if they have any Mavericks.
Well today I check and a dealer nearby says they have 14 in stock. Not in transit, not pending sale, nothing that would indicate they weren't there.
Well we get done and I drive to the dealership. Drive the lot, drive the used lot, drive the service lot, drive another lot they have across the street. Not a single one.
Next thing I know a salesman flags me down and says what exactly are you looking for? Tell him all the Mavericks you guys have listed on your website. His response, word for word, oh we don't actually have those.
What the hell? Though shouldn't surprise me because the same dealership did the EXACT same thing when the new Bronco came out. Listed several for sale but didn't actually have any. I could understand saying you have 2 or 3, but they all sold before I showed up, especially with how popular it is. But to put on your website you have 14?
Anyway head home and drive by my local dealer and they have one on the lot. Only a XL but I am just looking for one to look at and see how I like the truck in general. Plan on ordering a Lariat this summer when order banks open back up.
Even though it was an XL it appeared much nicer than I expected. But my daily is also a 95 Ram pickup so anything will be an upgrade. It was also really nice to be able to reach over the bedside and touch the bottom of the bed. Adjusted the driver seat to me, then sat behind it to see if an adult would fit comfortably. Fit no problem. Had my oldest and tallest kid climb in and sit behind me, she had plenty of room and was comfortable.
It was a customer order, but they had to have bought it, driven it home, and decided immediately they didn't like it. It was listed as used and has a whole 11 miles on it. Closest houses are about 1 mile away, so to and from the dealership would put it at 9, and I know some of those miles are from simply being built and delivered.
