I smiled at this. My dad called it 4/40. Four windows down, forty miles an hour.

After 14 months, my 2022 Maverick 2.0 Lariat is in hand. With all the waiting, wondering and wishing, my new truck is all that I could hope for. Twice the milage of my F-250, better AC than the 1971 Maverick (that has the standard 2/55 air. Roll down both windows and drive.) and rides like a dream.

My dealership has been awesome though the entire process. There are alot of buttons and features that I will have to learn but that should keep me busy for awhile. First thing is find out how to turn off the Cruise Control Early Warning System.

With a 14 month lead time, I was able to walk in yesterday, provide them with a very small amount of money and walk away with a Brand New Paid Off Truck!
Congratulations! Hope you love that truck for 20 years. Like me if I ever get it.

After 276 miles, I am very happy with my choice in this vehicle. Might even get on a list for another one.

I called it 4/60 if I was going slow! 69 Mustang, actually had AC but rarely used it. I also miss the little triangle window that cars had that would let you jet air into the car, and the lower vent by your feet.

Congratulations! We just rolled 1,000 miles on our XLT Lux 2.0 4K FX4 and really love the truck. We did the same - in this case ours was a 2017 Honda Ridgeline with 50K but either way walked out with a paid off truck.

Put on a front hood protector (Lund/Ford), RokBlokz mud flaps, Sentry CT Hard rollup tonneau, and generic amazon bed extender. All great additions to an economical but capable truck that drives great. But in my case I’ve lost it to my wife who loves to drive it 😁

Essentially coming out of warranty and getting a new car with new Warranty on what was basically a straight trade - New Truck for Old Truck, very little $$ required.

Additionally, the Ridgeline was showing some common faults one of which was concerning. The big one was the transmission programming/surge which is “common”. Despite working with Honda since 25K miles, they could not correct and others have had. The seals on doors were also leaking (common apparently). All of which are dealt with for relatively little $$…but moving on to a more modern vehicle with warranty, better mileage, more responsive engine (you need to rev the V6 to get power on Ridgeline), etc.

We also hated the Infotainment unit from Honda as everyone does, so while the Maverick is considered dated - a step up for us from the Honda by a large margin (knobs!). We also had the black edition with black leather and in Florida summer it was just darn hot - so cloth is much much nicer in XLT for us…and with 1 kid graduating college and another wrapping up high school not as much worry about needing to clean up spills, etc.

Hope that gives you some context - essentially we get the same capability (Tow + Capacity) in a nicer driving, slightly smaller (a positive), and more modern vehicle.

Very good points- Hopefully the Maverick turns out better for you- I do have some longevity concerns so we will see on that. Yeah I cant stand infotainment HVAC controls- Mavs HVAC seems very good compared to our old highlander and nice having the more modern features and such even though its not Sync4 with a ten inch screen minus cubby - Good luck- Loving our Lariat/4K/Lux/FX4 so far- 1st tank refill gonna hurt though- lol
