Awesome truck! I ordered the same color XLT Hybrid Lux on 7/1/21 and my build date is 8/8/22 and I can’t wait to get it. I have no clue how long it will take to get it though.
I have a write up in the Detailed Image Ask-a-Pro Blog with my wait time breakdown, but once built it took about a month and a half to reach me. That is with about 3 weeks with the vehicle being about 3 miles away from me waiting for convoy!

I did not notice much rail dust at all actually. I was pretty surprised there. Overall the paint was in really good shape and the only trouble areas were some scratches on the front and rear panels. They were however easily removed with a one step polishing process.

Love the Alto Blue! It will show imperfections easier, but when detailed that color is going to look amazing for sure!
Agreed. I initially went in to order a Velocity Blue or Carbonized grey like you, few days later they got in an Alto blue that I saw at the dealership and I was pretty impressed how it looks, the metallic, and changes in different shades and changed my order up. I like the cactus grey but its kinda bland up close IMO, guess I just like metallic colors more. I think I'll be happy. Im surprised about the lack of rail dust on yours....thats good!

I originally went in to order and had Cactus Gray in my mind as the color I was going for. The dealer however had a Ranger in stock with that color and I changed my mind pretty quickly due to the light blue hue I had seen. If it was more of a gray/khaki I would have been all over it. Personally, I love Carb Gray and Alto Blue the best, but I would love a nice dark green.

You are going to love the Alto Blue for sure. I love the change from dark blue to what looks like black depending on the light.

Wife's escape is the 2020 only color. Dark Persian Green....it is sharp when its detailed. I would get a Maverick in that color if they'd offer it.

Wow, me too! That color would look GREAT on a Maverick!

Those readings are based on the Elcometer readings before application of the Crystal Serum Light Coating. After the readings I performed a one step polishing process and coated with the CSL, then topped with the Gtechniq C2V3. There is a write up in detail on the Detailed Image Ask-a-Pro Blog as well, I just can not link over to it.

The fabric protectant is great! I still would recommend covering the seats if you have a dog, but the Smart Fabric is easy to apply and it helps keep any spills or stains from setting in.
Is the one step polishing a paint correction? I want to do CSL topped with Evo4 based on recommendations I have read, but I have never done anything like coating before. From what I understand the paint has to be perfect before you coat. Would the Meguiars DA power system and a drill work for the paint correction process? I do have a 60gal compressor, so I can get the harbor freight DA for like $70 if that's a better option. Not having a hose to worry about/hit the truck seems nice though.

Do you do the entire car or are you looking for swirls and things only to hit with he DA / polish?

Lots of questions, sorry! Appreciate your time! Your truck looks great!

I went with a "one step" or a single polishing process after checking out the paint. This was simply due to the imperfections in the paint being pretty minimal. I tested out a small area that looked like it might be the worst on the vehicle and the light option did a great job so I did that across the rest of the truck. If you only polish a small area that area will look glossy or more optically clear that the rest, so you do want to perform uniform polishing across the entire truck. All vehicles are different, so be sure to inspect and test to make sure the paint is where you would like it before protecting.

Before coating you do need to make sure the paint is thoroughly clean. Wash, decon, dry, polish, then remove any oils with the Gtechniq Panel Wipe. The prep work is extensive, but after that you are ready to coat.

I have seen some work with a drill, but I would recommend upgrading to a dual action unit. I personally used the Griot's Garage G9 here and it worked amazing, but that is more along the $150 range in terms of price. I like it more than my Harbor Freight, but the HF is a great discount option that works very well so go with what you would prefer.

Hope that helps and if you have any other questions along the way just let me know!

+1 for the G9 imo!
