I ordered my 2022 Ecoboost AWD with 4k tow on the last day orders were open (I think 20 January). I finally picked it up yesterday and I love it! I had already bought a tonneau cover, a rubber bed mat, and some steel. Today I built the lumber rack for it and installed the tonneau. Tuesday I am doing the super lift 2.5" and putting wildpeaks on it. I will build a winch bumper hopefully this summer when the weather is more conducive to this kinda thing.

Thats quite a nice rack. Any thoughts on a little extra triangulation under the edge of the front overhang?

Great job though.

Thanks. Yeah i thought about it, but wasn't sure how it would look and don't think it's necessary based on the gauge of steel I used. After installing, I think it would look fine (there's enough room there) so i might do it. I still have some time to make modifications before I bring it to powder coating.

I made the rack with 48.5 interior dimensions so it can handle sheet goods. I also made the back piece removable just in case I need to put something tall in the bed. The height is 1/4" over the stubby antenna. I used 11 gauge and 14 gauge for the frame and .133 pipe for the risers. I think the capacity should be 1k lb+.

Nice, well thought out. As for triangulation, even just plating and boxing the plate would go a long way for stability and give you a nice flat spot for a personal logo or sticker or tie down loop or what have you. Could even do recessed lights in the plate on the inside pointed back towards the bed.

If you are getting it powder coated, I would take some time to think of all the little things like loops, sleeved pass-thoughs, light mounts, or even just threaded inserts for adding aluminum cleats. Lots a finishing touches can really make it easy to use and keep looking nice.
