Just wondering how much all of this cost as opposed to just getting a higher level trim with some of these options already on it. I know it adds delays to order process.

These add ons cost just under $2200, with the majority of it being what I had the dealership add. Even with the most basic trim it took just over a year from order date. The things that I liked about the XL is that I actually prefer the interior and the grill better than the other two model trims. It also allowed for customizing to our specific needs/ wants without paying for extras that I wouldn't necessarily need. Even with highest trim level I would have done some personalization add ons. So for me the decision wasn't about quicker delivery of the Maverick, but more about getting it the way we want. IMHO the things that could cause a delay and worth waiting for are the the electronic stuff. The bed liner you can always have the dealership do on arrival. It'll different for everyone.Just wondering how much all of this cost as opposed to just getting a higher level trim with some of these options already on it. I know it adds delays to order process.
Hi all, the quoted post was actually a prank, no one picked up on it![]()
I ordered the Maverick tailgate letters and this is what I received? They totally messed up my order. It spells AMERICA. The arrow below the “A” could also have been made better. Don’t know what that arrow is for, maybe to denote north America? Also as you can see these are too wide to fit inside the slots of the tailgate. On top of that, I ordered matte black and they sent dirty looking white.
All these mods. Now I'm gonna have mod mine (whenever I get it) or I'm going to be an outcast! One year and one week from the order date we got my wife’s truck.![]()

I took two plus weeks to decide on which modifications to do and wait for parts. Thanks to all who posted and shared their ideas and diy tutorials. Too many to list, but thanks to all of you.
Here's my additions.
Items that I had the dealership add:
Truxedo Sentry hard tonneau roll cover.

Line-X spray in bed liner.

XLT wheels – from forum member Mavlove, that the dealership swapped out for me.![]()
My adds that I did after arrival of final parts:
Two bed cubbies. installed lights in both. Works well for when I need just a little light and to see what’s deep in the cubby. Also added reed switches so the cubby lights turn off when the cover is closed. Right side cubby has the cig lighter socket, two USB C and one USB A port and the voltage display.![]()
I added a lock to the door. It's were I store my tire pump, battery jump starter and AC inverter.![]()

Left side. Added cubby light, USB ports and 12v outlet. We use it to store our bungees and straps. The cubbies actually fit a lot.

Side rails with adjustable tie downs, painted black with bed liner paint. $45 for parts from the hardware store.

Added two additional tie down rings above cubbies.![]()
Bed lighting. Wired it without having to take off tail lights or run wire under the truck. Much easier and super quick and clean looking install.![]()

I installed the power switch on the cover that had the wiring harness.![]()
I also added a pin switch so lights turn on when the tailgate is open and off when closed.![]()
Bed divider. Wrapped a 2x6 with waterproof material. The roll of material should be enough to cover two more dividers. Attached six triangle rings with elevator bolts to this one.

Smartliner floor mats.

Fire extinguisher in passenger door fits nicely.![]()
Matching tumbler.![]()

Used my Scosche phone holder. It fits nicely into the cubby without additional accessories.

Wireless Android Auto using the Motorola MA1.
We use the non data USB ports for phone charging so Android Auto doesn’t get confused.![]()
Added protection for the door sills. The texture is similar to bed liner.

Hybrid emblem on driver’s side door.

I installed a triangle tie down in place of bottle opener tie down to prepare for install of tailgate assist. Still waiting waiting for dealership to get it done.![]()
I installed four of them onto the tailgate. You can also pop them out before shutting the tailgate and tie things down. View attachment 62849

AVS Bug Deflector II from Real Truck. It screws into the existing holes under the hood. I’ll be able to periodically remove it to clean the front of the hood. I didn't want the adhesive one.

I also added MAVERICK lettering as you can see in the picture above I kept it very subtle.
Here are links to Items that I used.
Note: the mats are different for the Hybrid and EB. Make sure you get the one made for your model.

Thanks, well put, my sentiments exactly. I also went to the same university, lol. It's funny that you never graduate from it, but you can take a class anytime you want.XL pricing +$2200 in mods and you're still well below what a truck with some of these options would have cost on the lot, if you were able to find one at all. Love to see people utilizing aftermarket parts and a little bit of elbow grease to make the XL better suited to their needs. I plan on doing the same and I'm looking forward to the mods almost as much as the truck itself. I'm not at your level, but a couple of classes at youtube university and I can usually get the job done lol. Just gives you a good feeling to get your setup where you want it. Well done!
Thanks, yeah you don't want to be the outcast. I also use any excuse that I can to justify my mods. My wife didn't even realize that she needed this stuff until I pointed out the benefitsAll these mods. No I'm gonna have mod mine (whenever I get it) or I'm going to be an outcast!
But, your Mav looks great.
Edit: I found your links. How was install for the side steps?
Sorry for delayed response. I just saw your question. Install is very easy. With one huge exception. I have a hybrid and I believe that the holes that the bolts go into are different than an EcoBoost. Just the two holes at the center mounting points on the passengers side, doesn't fit the bolts that they give you. I had to cut them down to make them fit. If you have an EcoBoost I believe it would be very easy. Can anyone confirm that they fit on the EcoBoost models? I bought these not knowing that they are not for the hybrid. It seems that the company that sold them was not aware either. I believe the one that Real Truck sells are the same just with different branding. I got them to mount just fine. My wife and grandkids find them useful.Edit: I found your links. How was install for the side steps?

I didn't coat them with anything. It's holding up fine for me so far.I finished installing the side steps last night on my EB, by headlamp light. If that’s what you call easy, you’re a better man than me haha. Me and my three year old are super happy with the result though. Thanks for the info!
the instructions said to wax them or they will get damaged. Did you coat yours with anything?
