Hello folks. Standard disclaimer that I did search first. Did not see much activity on this topic.
Do the Mavericks get a railcar number change once they hit the border? Or do they keep the same for the entire trip? I have what I think is a BNSF railcar number (based on the prefix being BNSF). But I was told the rail line it is running on was currently Ferrocarril Mexicano (which makes sense).
I don't know of a way to track BNSF railcars..... All I see people on here using and talking about is the automated CSX, NS, and UP systems/phone numbers. Is there one for BNSF?
Looking at the BNSF "automotive transfer" specific routing map, it looks like from Hermosillo a truck would run on FXE (Ferrocarril Mexicano) up to the border, then Union Pacific up to El Mirage (essentially Phoenix), them up thru California and Oregon on BNSF, either landing in Rivergate (Portland Oregon), or getting closer to me just north of Seattle by landing at Orillia (looks like it is at an address in Renton WA, and probably why there is an Orillia Road near there where I grew up....hmmm....never made the connection).
Anyway.....can I track my Maverick when it seems to still be on Ferrocarril Mexicano? Do I need to wait? If yes, do I need to wait until it goes both thru Ferrocarril Mexicano AND makes it thru Phoenix AZ on Union Pacific?
Links to the BNSF maps if anyone is curious: https://www.bnsf.com/ship-with-bnsf/maps-and-shipping-locations/rail-network-maps.page
