I've had the Maverick I ordered for 1 week now, and we are totally loving it. Superlatives and nitpicks are about the same, I will try to make some new comments. But first the subject as posted

I find myself telling random people about how much I love my new truck! And I feel sorry for those who either don't have all these features, or paid $50k or more to get them. And then there are those complaining about the price of gas .... (I got aHybrid).

Do others here feel this way too?

A list of random quirks
  • The seat heaters stay on when the car is turned off and back on. Different
  • The rear parking assist freaks out when the tailgate is down. It must be disabled with OK button on the steering wheel or the sonic assault must be endured.
  • The gear select operates very different. It seems to be a rotary encoder. If you are in drive and rotate clockwise (instead of CCW) two clicks, the car is still in drive. There is no tactile way to know this unless you sense not going backwards or you visibly read out the gear selection from the dash.

I love this feature! Every car I have owned since my 2002 Isuzu Trooper, the car seat heaters had to be returned on every time you started the vehicle. I run my seat heaters year round (though less often in summer). I actually like that I can keep my default on for the most part.

Now, if we could only do the same for our shift mode! Now that would be great to remember from the last trip. :)

Indeed, looking to do the FORScan in the near future to fix that!

Honeymoon phase. Give it time, it'll wear off. Keep yourself in check in the mean time. Nobody likes a showoff.

As far as rear sensor beeping when tailgate is down, my F150 does that. Push reset takes care of it unless you turn vehicle off. Then process starts again.

Im old so rotary shifter is a major NO LIKE!

Yeah I wish the shifter had hard stops at either end. I'm getting acclimated to it now, but my first few days with the truck, I spun the wheel CW a couple times trying to put it in park, only to realize I was still in drive when I took my foot off the brake.

Otherwise I do like the rotary shifter. Nice and unobtrusive
