Looking for some help/quick advice: just had a Line-X SIBL done and when I got home I noticed the factory bed light (not cargo) was stuck on (and fluttering) even with the truck off and key out.

I’ve removed the box and clipped in the harness to the light and switch but it’s persisting. Unhooked the light harness for the night and stowed it in the fender.

Two questions:
1. Anyone had this issue?
2. Is it fine to leave the detached harness overnight (it’s raining but should be water tight)?

Strange. No idea. I assume the Line-X folks removed the box when they sprayed the liner in?

Correct, they did a nice job except for whatever is going on here.

If your EB is like my hybrid, the bed light is easily removed. I would take it out and see if you can test it. To me it sounds like an issue with the switch. Is the cargo light in the back of the cab operating properly? I believe the extra 12v power supply wiring might plug into the light and you can “bench test” the light with a 12v battery. If I had to guess when they covered the light and switch they removed the panel to mask it and something isn’t plugged in all the way. I suspect the light is the culprit.

The extra 12v plug for the bed WILL fit into the plug that goes to the oem bedlight, but not into the the light itself, sorry. Still should be able to test the light with some wire and a 12v battery.

The light is functional, but dim. The switch and outlet are not. I assume it’s a bad ground or loose connections somewhere. Line-X is going to check it out tomorrow. One thing they did do was spray inside the bed panels where they could, not my request but I’m sure this is actually useful for rust prevention (they didn’t spray the wiring harnesses).

Hoping it’s just a loose connection. I moved my oem switch for the bed light to the little panel that houses the extra 12v power, it barely reaches but I did notice the plugs for the light and switch “lock” when fully in where you have to push a tab to get them apart. My guess is still just a loose connection but If it turns out your bed light is bad, don’t overpay for one from dealership, mine is in a bag under the back seat.

just thought of this, wondering if they unplugged the panel and when they put it back the plugs for the bed light and switch are reversed?

When Line-X did mine, they must have forgotten to disconnect the tailgate connector before pulling the tailgate. I found the harness loose and un-clipped from under the bed.

Hopefully they didn't damage any wiring.

just noticed you said they sprayed inside the bed panels, that means they didn't mask off but removed the outlet, light and switch while spraying. Leans to me thinking more and more they have some plugs swapped around and either didn't get the outlet harness plugged in all the way or blew the fuse for it.

wouldn't go that far........I tell the wife I sometimes have Wiley Coyote "super genius" moments. when I did the outlet move, I made sure to mark what plugs went where so I didn't muck it up. That was my favorite mod so far, swiped the idea from another guy on here.
