Ford Maverick Escape HVAC Control Panel Swap for Lariats IMG_9888

First, this is a super easy upgrade for anyone that already has a Lariat with dual climate control!

Note: there are a few different variations of this control panel, the one I got is: LJ6T-18C612-GB which includes the *lighted* chrome bar. There are other part numbers that include an unlighted chrome bar.

Before swapping I made a backup of my As-Built and easy mode. As I was comparing settings between the Escape module and my factory Mav module, I noticed a few settings in the Mav module that didn't quite make sense. They are below.

Aux Water Pump: Escape, Enabled | Mav, Disabled
Heated Mirror Output Relay: Escape, Active | Mav, Not Active <- My truck has heated mirrors?
Heated Side Mirrors: Escape, Enabled | Mav, Disabled <- My truck has heated mirrors?
PDM/DDM Modules: Escpe, Equipped | Mav, Not Equipped <- My truck has both PDM and DDM?
Seat Fabric: Escape, leather | Mav, cloth <- My truck has leather seats?
Sliding Rear Window: Escape, Disabled | Mav, disabled <- My truck has a sliding rear window

I am confused why my Mav hvac unit has settings that don't correlate with the specs of my truck? Should I update them to match on the Escape hvac unit? It seems to be working and I haven't noticed any loss of features but will need to wait until it gets cold again to confirm heated mirror functionality

I installed the same part number as you and went with my as built data. Everything works as yours does. The only thing that I’m not sure of is my heated mirrors comes on once the outside air temp goes below 50 degrees. It wasn’t cold enough before I swapped mine out to have noticed this. Does your heated mirrors come on when the temp is below 50?

With my factory Mav hvac, they did come on when the temp was <50, which I hated lol.

In the next hour or so when the temp drops I can confirm if this is still the case.

So with the Escape HVAC mirrored to Mav settings, it looks like the side mirrors are coming on with temps <50. Damn it!

I will try stock escape settings to see if that changes things…I don’t want to loose my heated mirrors

I meant “automatically coming on” when I start the car. Would prefer if they didn’t come on unless I press the button since the majority of the time it’s dry conditions

now that you mention it, I think I would prefer manual over automatic regardless.

Yep there was a thread about it a while back. On the lariats the heated mirrors come on automatically when temps are less than 50*. After swapping in the escape hvac module that “feature” persists

I’ll do something experimenting to see if I can get it to stop coming on automatically

Update on this.. with the programming matching the escape, the heated mirrors are turning themselves back on automatically every time the engine restarts from start/stop.

Will flash the maverick as built, since i don't want to keep turning them off
