What made us hop on the 'electronic' path when it could be a mechanical, "slim-jim" path? Maybe there's a 'known-amongst-thieves' vulnerability in the passenger door that allows a slim-jim to be used without damage?
You can buy the airbag at Harbor Freight for $17
Or less than $40 online for the set.
The alarm still should have went off.

I'm not so sure about that.

Try this:
put your window down far enough to easily reach in. then close the door and lock with fob. reach in and hit unlock, then open door. did it go off? if it doesn't unlock that is cool, but then try pulling the handle. ford front doors will always open when the interior handle is pulled, it doesn't need to be unlocked first.

Oh, I'm Sure about it.
That's exactly what I did. I pulled the outside door handle realize that it was locked, reached inside and pulled the inside door handle. I heard the door chime going off didn't think anything of it and then the alarm went off (horn beeping) And I didn't have the key with me. I didn't remember if the key was back in the house or in the shed.
I definitely know the alarm works on the truck.
I don't remember if I locked the truck using the key fob or whether I hit the two buttons on the keypad or whether I locked it from the button inside on the door.
It takes 15 seconds for the alarm to activate. Once the door is open the door chime will ring steadily. Sfter 5 Seconds the chime will increase its speed. Then the horn will start beeping.
I can do a video, if anyone is in doubt.

This is on a 2023 Mav hybrid XLT lux pak.

If you park in the same place every night, a camera is the way to go. These days, cameras have pretty good night vision. I have a $25 Tapo TP-Link 2k camera that watches my whole driveway. No subscription is needed.

there are 2 separate transmitters in the Maverick key fob. one of them is used to unlock the doors and it has decent range. the other radio is an immobilizer used for the ignition and it has much shorter range.

it's possible to capture both if a person observing you has the right equipment. (a directional antenna and a frequency scanning and logging device.) there are criminal tools sold on the internet that do this. the immobilizer stellantis used for a long time is not secure, that's why you see so many hellcats and srts being stolen, but I don't think it's currently possible to circumvent it in a current model Ford fob.

they can definitely get into the vehicle, though. you can't stop it if they are observing (and recording) you unlocking the truck and getting in.

again I'd just put up a camera, get some pepper spray, and see what's going on in the middle of the night.
I am installing a mirror camera today.

put up something on your house or garage overlooking the truck that will alert you immediately. a camera in the truck is a lot less useful, especially if they steal it.
