They will be plug and play. There is no cutting/splicing of wires, but there is a fuse tap that needs to be plugged into the fuse box on XL/XLT to activate the DRL without needing to reprogram the BCM.What not a plug and play? Hopefully they will provide a plug adapter so we don't have to splice into the factory wiring. Another member on this site said if you buy used Lariet headlights they work in XLT since they are already activated. If you buy brand new you have go into forscan to activate them. Some of the chinese ones on Ebay say plug and play. I still don't think I would trust the Ebay ones. I did get chinese LED tailights and they did work. The actual bulbs were cheap and had no plastic around the ends where you plug them into the sockets.
The DRL on XL/XLT is the low beam. However, the DRL on Lariat is an LED Blade that is activated by LIN messaging from the BCM. Lariat lights do not work on XL/XLT unless the vehicle BCM is reprogrammed to send the LIN message for DRL to the headlight. To work on both versions without reprogramming, the FORM headlights should be looking for either the Lariat DRL LIN message or discrete 12-volt power from the fuse box on XL/XLT.
