Driver side mirror

I have a 24 XLT Mav.

When going through a car wash I fold in the side mirrors.

The car wash usually unfolds the driver side, but this time pushed it back the other way towards the front of the truck.

It popped back into place. Didn't know the side mirrors would fold back toward the front of the vehicle. Anyone have any issues with Maverick side mirrors at car washes?

Yeah. No judgement on your choice to use "physical contact" automated car washes @BirdDog , but this is a prime example of why I only hand wash, or use touch-less automated car washes.

If the brushes are not only strong enough to grab and extend my mirror from a folded position, but also strong enough bend it the wrong direction (even if it is spring loaded or designed to be able to bend backwards), imagine what it is doing to your clear coat/paint.

Same thing happens on my 23 XLT. Those mirrors don't fold flat against the window like most vehicles. Bad design?

I’ve never folded in my mirrors when going through a car wash. I usually go through about two times a week and have never had my side mirrors move.
