Hello everyone!

I just happened on the website while researching the Maverick.

I have been looking for a small hybrid pickup with a high MPG. The Maverick is the only one I found.

I have a Prius bought new in 2005 and still going strong with over 70k on it. I am using it mostly for trips over 25 miles. For trips less than 25 miles, I use a 2003 Matrix XR.

Now the Prius has a little auxiliary battery located under the right side of the cargo floor, behind the right rear wheel well. Its sole purpose is to power the computer that starts the ICE and the lights and instrument panel. If I am not careful by making sure that the engine is turned off, all the lights are off and the doors are fully shut, the battery can get drained quickly.

Does the Maverick have a small auxiliary battery too just like the Prius? Where is it located and what is its capacity?

It has a regular 12 volt battery located under the back seat.

Yes, just like a Prius, vented to the outside and just about same size Maverick looks slightly taller. The great thing about Maverick is the much beefed up DC-DC converter to charge the 12v from the hybrid battery pack. Its over 3x more amps than a Prius.
Prius camper crowd uses the Prius as an very efficient 120v generator, by using a 1500w inverter and keeping it at or below 1200w for continuous use. Mavericks should support a 3000w inverter easily. Engine left in ready mode for each hybrid vehicle

The Maverick Hybrid has a 12v 45Ah battery for all the 12v components in the truck. Lower capacity than what Toyota is typically putting in their hybrids, and it's not AGM like Toyota uses. Advantage is that it is cheaper to replace, but it's not as good a battery, so don't expect it to last 8-10 years like the Panasonic batteries Toyota uses.

You should be on your 4th new Prius battery by now. If you are still using original 12v battery, its the super old battery not holding charge. Prius is much better than Maverick on self draining battery issues.
As to MPG my 2013 Prius gets within 1 mpg of the newer Maverick in same conditions. In hot weather Maverick clearly gets better MPGs

Seats: my Prius seats cause discomfort if trip is 90+ minutes. Zero discomfort in XL seats for hours at a time, now the lariat trim seats my backside just doesn’t want to leave, they are SO comfortable and relaxing my old body. just wants me to stay even when the trip is over.
