I have had good service with @Discount Tire .

Just purchased rotation service for my tires. Seems like when I take my Mav to the dealership, I have to hope everything comes back to me in good shape.

With Discount Tires, they seem to give me good service and don't have the concerns they are going screw up something.

Had my FREE 6mo/5K rotation and balancing done yesterday. Had a 2 PM appointment, dropped off at Noonish. Got a text 40 minutes later that the vehicle was ready. One hour before the appointment. Showed up at 3pmish and the inside manager came out with my keys and handed me my the keys and receipt. 5*****

It's like anything really. I've had good and bad experiences but mostly good. The latest set of tires I got on my Maverick were improperly balanced and they gave me the wrong lug nuts. First time it's happened with Discount but it's a reminder to pay attention and check everything before you drive off. They gave me some clearly used ones and I wanted chrome not black. They were also oversized and poked out way too much. Got them to put the correct ones on and I left.

As for the balance, I was one of the last vehicles before they closed and had to drive it home over 120 miles that way, then had it redone by the local Les Schwab. Wasn't noticable until highway speeds which was 15 minutes out of town where I had it done. Obviously I wasn't happy having already waited longer for them to fix one mistake.

All things considered, the prices compared to Les Schwab will be the reason I buy from them again. Veteran discount and if you are lucky there are often rebates as well, especially if you put it in their Synchrony card - which I just pay off anyways to avoid interest.

If I lived near one I'd pay for the warranty but being 120 miles away it's pointless. I can't justify driving 120 miles one way for a replacement tire if an issue arises. So it's the local Les Schwab as a backup.

Also, since they are the cheapest in that town, never and I mean never try to make an appointment during busy season for tire changeovers or to get new sets. They cant even keep up with the phone calls and you sit on endless hold if they ever do pick up. It's pretty bad. They need a reception area and reception team like the Les Schwabs have up here. Having the tire techs go back and forth is a terrible strategy.

I’m still shocked they don’t offer that when you purchase tires form them. My local store give rotation and balance for the life of the tires if bought through them. Had good luck with discount also. But found a local shop that just goes above and beyond.

Rotation is free at my local America's Tire. Same company I've read.

Just to clarify, Discount does rotation for free as long as the tires were purchased and installed through them. The extra payment is for Certificates to replace the tires due to unforeseen damage.

"If a tire covered by the Certificate for Repair, Refund or Replacement fails due to a non repairable road hazard or manufacturer defect, has 3/32" and above of tread depth remaining across the tire, and has been less than 3 years from date of purchase, Discount Tire will give a refund of the full purchase price, together with the applicable sales tax and give you the option to purchase a replacement tire at the refund price, with the payment of any applicable sales tax. There’s no prorating, no disqualification for any reason such as run-on damage and no mileage adjustment."

My @Discount Tire told me the rotations are free even if you didn't buy the tires there, but if you want balancing, there is a fee. They sold me a life time balancing service. I decided against the certificate warranty on the tires.

If I am going to rotate the tires, I definitely want them balanced. The life time balancing seemed reasonable to me.

how much did they charge for the lifetime balance and is it just life of the tire, or life of the customer? 🤣

I hope I have a few more sets of tires left in me before I drive the Maverick through the pearly gates...so I hope I paid for life time tire rotation and balances.

The life time balance and rotations cost me around 80 bucks. This is worth it to me as there is a Discount Tire near my house. I have purchased tires for my other vehicles there and they always get me in and out and good service.

I had an F150 before as my daily driver and it treated me better than I treated it. I got well over 200k plus miles on it before I let it go. I am wanting to take care of the Maverick.

Discount Tire has a big presence here in the SoCal area. I alternate between them and Costco Tire Center.

Both offer good service after sales. Regardless, I always stay with my vehicle and watch while they work on it. I consult my owner's manual for the recommended tire rotation pattern for my vehicle before going. Then I ask that they follow the mfg's pattern, not what they want. I also ask that they hand torque the lug nuts and use tape weights on the inside of the wheel when balancing my tires. I never let them hammer weights onto the outside of the wheel.

It's that whole transparency thing, tends to make people do the right thing.

Awesome suggestion. I marked my families tires with a paint pen so they would know if it was done correctly and sure enough, it wasn't.
