Hey guys, does anyone know where to find an in depth description of how each drive mode alters the engine, transmission, and PTU?

Thanks

Kevin,

I have not seen any such description but I have driving demos on my channel that can help. Here is my non-scientific summary. These descriptions are the same for my hybrid and turbo versions, but of course the turbo makes the Mav more like a little race truck.

Normal shifts gears how you would expect, after attaining a certain RPM.
Sport holds the gears to a higher RPM with each shift. You can really hear the engine rev. The gas pedal seems stiffer and the truck jumps off the line, especially the turbo.
Economy is pretty much the opposite of Sport. The gears shift at lower RPM and the gas pedal feels mushy. Eco acts like a governor to save fuel by not letting the Mav accelerate as quickly.
Slippery helps to avoid wheel spin and gives a feeling of more control.
Tow/Haul - not used yet.

Here is a video showing us driving in a snow storm in Slippery mode. It really makes a difference. Hope this helps.

just to add
(normal mode) is a strong smooth quick ride cant feel the speed going up much but can tell, very smooth ride with cvt
2nd best mpg similar to eco, but has more power available

(eco) is so smooth you cant tell your speeding up at all!,i ask myself am i gaining speed?!?! look down,,yep... helps gas and stay smooth and easy as possible even cruise control can lack speed on slight hills due to it being so light duty mode
best mpg overall, lower performance

(sport mode) actually makes you feel like a regular car, actually driving and shifting like you would expect, this is only one that has *gears your feel* and is rather quick actually but obviously worst full mpg mode
worst mpg overall, best performance

NORMAL
For everyday driving. This mode
is a perfect balance of
excitement, comfort and
convenience. This is the default mode after
each ignition cycle.

SAND (If Equipped)
For off-road driving. Sand mode
is for off-road driving on soft, dry
sand or deep conditions. Lower
gears hold longer in sand mode to maintain
momentum in soft conditions. Sand mode
optimizes braking for off-road conditions,
allowing quick path corrections and
minimized stopping distance when on
deformable surfaces.
Note: Using sand mode on dry, hard
surfaces could produce some vibration,
driveline bind up, potential excessive tire
wear and vehicle wear.
Note: Do not use on firm, slippery surfaces,
such as paved roads covered with snow or
ice or driving on packed snow. For slippery,
firm surfaces use slippery mode.

SLIPPERY
For less than ideal road
conditions such as snow or ice
covered roads. You can use this
mode for crossing terrain where loose, wet
or slippery materials covers a firm surface.
Slippery mode lowers throttle response
and optimizes shifting for slippery surfaces.

SPORT (If Equipped)
For sporty driving with improved
performance handling and
response. This mode increases
throttle response and provides a sportier
steering feel. The powertrain system
provides improved gear holding, helping
your vehicle accelerate faster.

TOW/HAUL
For improved transmission
operation when towing a trailer
or a heavy load. This mode
moves upshifts to higher engine speeds to
reduce the frequency of transmission
shifting. This mode also provides engine
braking in all forward gears, which slows
your vehicle and assists you in controlling
your vehicle when descending a slope. The
amount of downshift braking provided
varies based on the amount you press the
brake pedal.
The system tunes the steering to enhance
driving comfort when towing or carrying
heavy loads
